Zou Zou Dubai offers a unique Turkish-Mediterranean experience with a bold play of flavors. It has lively interiors blending earthy Mediterranean tones with intricate Turkish design touches, like patterned tiles and mosaic details, creating a warm, rustic feel. The service was warm and attentive. The cutlery and way of serving made the experience lavishly indulgent with a massive spread that came together in harmony.

The Mezze
Each dip brings its own twist, but they share a sour, tangy profile that becomes quite prominent. The first dip, with sour mango and yogurt, is intensely marinated and refreshing with a punchy acidity. Another, a salsa-like blend of exotic spices, has a pleasant heat, while the walnut-filled Muhammara stands out, though the vinegar is slightly overpowering. The hummus is tangy as well, and though it’s well-made, the persistent sourness starts to feel a bit one-note across the platter. The cucumber, dill, and yogurt dip offer some relief, its mildness a calming contrast to the other intense flavors. Generous use of pomegranate molasses may be to blame for the tartness across the board—Turkish-Mediterranean flavors are generally more balanced, and a subtler approach could have enhanced the experience.

The Mains
The kebab is satisfying with a good level of spice in the marination. Though not exceptionally tender, it still delivers on flavor without the melt-in-your-mouth texture one might expect.
The zaatar pizza is a highlight, a deliciously herbaceous experience with thin, soft dough that holds its own without becoming soggy. Generous zaatar coating, rosemary, and sesame seeds give a savory, nutty crunch that’s deeply satisfying. The light touch of lemon juice enhances it with contrast, without overpowering the delicate zaatar and rosemary flavors. It's herby, nutty, and savory, though the texture and flavor profile feel distinct from typical pizza.

Drinks
The Turkish tea here is slightly bitter, pairing well with the food, offering a grounding note amidst the bright, tangy flavors. The other drinks were playfully creative and enjoyable with fresh ingredients.

Zou Zou's Turkish fare is definitely a standout here; skip the Italian options and savor the Turkish dishes and tea. This is a place to indulge in bold flavors, though the sour notes could benefit from more balance. For those who enjoy a flavor-forward, herb-laden experience, Zou Zou offers a memorable taste of the Mediterranean in the heart of Dubai.
